Welcome to the cozy Vacation Apartment "Bijou Beatus" in Merligen! The Bijou is located in an old, traditional Swiss chalet and offers space for a maximum of 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children.

The apartment has a bedroom with a double bed (160 x 210 cm) and a wardrobe. In the living room, there is a comfortable sofa where you can relax after a long day. The sofa can be extended into an additional sleeping space (130 x 190 cm) upon request.
It features a small, practical kitchen with a dining area.
There is also a rustic-style bathroom/WC in the apartment. The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub.
The terrace and balcony are the perfect place to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Niesen massif and the beautiful Lake Thun – simply relax and take in the fresh mountain air!
The apartment is decorated in cozy, warm colors and offers you a lovely place to unwind after an eventful day in the Bernese Oberland.
The chalet (a former double farmhouse) was built in the 17th century and later extended and renovated. It is an older apartment with authentically low ceilings.

In the immediate vicinity of the apartment, you’ll find a variety of activities available year-round. In summer, you can swim in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Thun, go boating, or enjoy a cycling tour. In winter, the region offers numerous ski areas and snow hikes. Sightseeing in Interlaken is, of course, possible all year round.
The nearby town of Interlaken is a popular tourist destination known for its stunning mountain scenery and a wide range of outdoor activities. Here you can hike, climb, raft, paraglide, and of course, shop.
The Merligen area is also rich in culture and history. Just a few minutes away, you’ll find Oberhofen Castle and Spiez Castle, both of which offer fascinating history and breathtaking lake views. If you wish to explore more of the region’s cultural heritage, Thun Castle and Hünegg Castle are two additional nearby attractions worth visiting.
For those who enjoy food and drink, the area around Merligen offers a variety of restaurants and cafés serving traditional Swiss dishes and wines.
Another highlight of the region is the Niederhorn, a mountain peak near Interlaken that can be reached by cable car. Here you can enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and Lake Thun, and in winter, you can ski or go sledding.

So that you are well prepared and feel comfortable from the very beginning, here are a few practical notes about the apartment:
- This is an old, charming chalet – accordingly, the ceilings are lower, as was common in the past.
- Air conditioning, a washing machine, and a dryer are not available. Fans are provided during warm weather.
- Unfortunately, luggage storage before check-in or after check-out is not possible.
- A respectful coexistence is important to us – please follow the house rules so that everyone can feel comfortable.
